In brief

Bath Christmas Market is short and compact, with chalets in the historic centre beside the Abbey. This page shows how its days differ and how to combine it with the city.

Bath does not do the big German-style Christmas market, and that is its advantage. The Bath Christmas Market is a compact run of wooden chalets right in the historic centre, close to the Abbey and the Roman Baths, so you can see it and the city in one trip. The catch is the calendar, since the run is brief and the closing hour changes from day to day.

One market, many chalets

The market stands outdoors at 36 Stall Street in the historic centre, and entry is free. It is organised by Muddy Dog, which holds the contract until 2030, so this is a fixture and not a one-off. Expect a festive market of chalets among the old stone streets rather than a vast fairground.

When it runs, day by day

The Bath Christmas Market will run on these dates: 26 Nov – 13 Dec 2026, and the hours by day are Mon–Wed 10am–7pm, Thu–Sat 10am–8pm, Sun 10am–6pm.

Market and city in one day

Spend the daylight hours on the Roman Baths and the Abbey, since both sit close to the chalets, and let the market take the evening. Then you reach Stall Street as the lights come on and still have most of the opening hours left. A Thursday to Saturday visit gives you the extra hour, while on a Sunday you do the market first and the sights after. The official site lists the bus and train options if you come from outside the city.
