Bardejov can be seen in 1 day: the square, the basilica and the town-hall museum sit next to each other, and the town walls ring the core within a few minutes' walk. From Prešov, the nearest hub, a bus takes 45 min (direct line).
The bus from Prešov (bus (SAD Prešov, regular regional line)) takes 45 min (direct line), ticket about €3 (cash) / €2.40 (card), straight to the old town's core. Radničné námestie is an elongated square, 260×80 metres, lined with arcades and 46 surviving merchant houses; it's free to walk at any hour, and takes 30–45 min walk to see. The historic core around it has been UNESCO-listed since 2000.
Inside the square's Gothic town hall itself is the Šariš Museum: entry €6, open May–Sep: Tue–Sun 9–12:30, 13–17; Oct–Apr: Tue–Sun 9–12, 12:30–15:30, closed Monday. A separate building on the same square holds the museum's Icon Collection, the only specialised collection of Orthodox and Greek Catholic icons in Slovakia.
A few steps further stands the Basilica of St Giles. Entry to the basilica with the tower is €4 (basilica + tower); interior only €2, the interior alone is cheaper; it's open Mon–Fri 10–16, Sat 10–15, Sun 11:30–14:30, with no closing day.
The square and the core are still ringed by the town fortifications — walls and bastions, of which 12 of the original 23 survive today. They're seen from outside, free, in 45 min walk.
On the edge of the core, in the former Jewish quarter, stands the Jewish Suburbium with its old synagogue: open Mon–Fri 9–12, 13–17, closed weekends, a visit arranged ahead.
Anyone using the full day continues four kilometres to Bardejovské Kúpele, where the open-air museum of folk architecture keeps the region's wooden buildings: €2 (skansen only); €9 combined with the ethnographic exhibition, open May–Sep: Tue–Sun 10–12:30, 13–18; Oct–Apr: Tue–Sun 9:30–12:30, 13–15, closed Monday.
