The day starts with a bus from Prešov, straight into the old town's core. The square, the town-hall museum, the basilica and the walls sit close enough together to fill the morning, and there's still time after lunch for the open-air museum at Bardejovské Kúpele, four kilometres out.
From the square to the open-air museum and back
Arrival from Prešov, bus (SAD Prešov, regular regional line), ticket about €3 (cash) / €2.40 (card).
Radničné námestie, an elongated arcaded square with 46 surviving merchant houses, part of the core that's been UNESCO-listed since 2000. Entry free.
The Šariš Museum, inside the square's own Gothic town hall: €6, May–Sep: Tue–Sun 9–12:30, 13–17; Oct–Apr: Tue–Sun 9–12, 12:30–15:30. A separate building on the square also holds the museum's Icon Collection, €6.
The Basilica of St Giles, a few steps on: the basilica with the tower is €4 (basilica + tower); interior only €2, open Mon–Fri 10–16, Sat 10–15, Sun 11:30–14:30.
A loop along the town fortifications, the walls and bastions — 12 of the original 23 survive today. Seen from outside, free, taking 45 min walk.
Lunch in the old core.
An MHD bus out to Bardejovské Kúpele, about 10 minutes, ticket €0.70.
The open-air museum of folk architecture: €2 (skansen only); €9 combined with the ethnographic exhibition, open May–Sep: Tue–Sun 10–12:30, 13–18; Oct–Apr: Tue–Sun 9:30–12:30, 13–15.
Back on the same line into the centre, then the bus to Prešov.
The old synagogue on the edge of the core isn't a walk-in stop — a visit is by appointment, open only Mon–Fri 9–12, 13–17. Anyone who wants it in the day arranges a time before reaching the square.
The Šariš Museum, the Icon Collection and the Kúpele museum are shut, Monday. The square, the basilica and the walls still run, so the day stays on those, without the open-air museum.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Can Bardejov be seen in a single day?
Yes. The square, the museum, the basilica and the walls fill the morning, the open-air museum at Bardejovské Kúpele the afternoon, with a bus back to Prešov in the evening.
Does anything need booking ahead?
Only the Jewish Suburbium visit, which runs by appointment. Every other ticket is bought on the spot.
What changes on a Monday?
The Šariš Museum, the Icon Collection and the open-air museum are shut. The square, the basilica and the walls stay open, so the day narrows to those.
