Where to stay in Varna
Varna is walkable from either end, but the choice is the same as anywhere: the old centre near the sights or the Sea Garden near the beach — a hostel from €7–9, a three-star hotel from €28–57 per person.

- Sights and restaurants on foot
- By the sea
- Sea Garden and the beach
- Hostel

Varna does not have a dozen districts to weigh against each other — the city is small enough to cross on foot inside 2–3 days — but direction still matters: the old centre keeps the sights and restaurants within a short walk, while the Sea Garden and the beach sit closer if the sea is the reason for coming. A bed runs from a hostel (€7–9 per person) to a three-star hotel (€28–57 per person, two sharing).
The old centre — close to everything but the beach
The streets around Knyaz Boris I Boulevard and Nezavisimost Square keep the Cathedral, the Roman Thermae and most restaurants within a short walk of each other — this is where you stay if the priority is not riding anywhere. There is one drawback: the sandy beach is still through or past the Sea Garden, on foot or by city transport, so the centre is not the front line to the sea.

By the Sea Garden and the beach — when the sea is the point
Room prices here do not really differ from the centre — the city is too small for that — but the choice is smaller, since most hotels still sit closer to the centre. The beach is fine sand, and the swimming season runs Jun–Sep; outside those months this side has little edge over the centre.

Hostel or hotel
A dorm bed runs €7–9 per person; a three-star hotel room for two comes to €28–57 per person. The difference is not only comfort: a dorm means sharing the room with strangers, while a hotel room is shared only with whoever you travel with.

What to avoid when booking
- A stay near St. Constantine and Helena without a car or a transport plan. The resort sits north of the city, separate from the centre — pick it on purpose, for the beach, not by accident instead of the city.
- A room with no mention of distance to the beach or the centre. When a listing does not say how far either one is, it is usually because both are far.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
