What Bucharest costs
Romania is not in the eurozone — you pay in lei (RON), but every price here is already converted to euro, line by line.
- Sleeping
- Hostel €7–15
- Food
- Street €5.30–5.70 (shaorma)
- Transport (STB)
- A ride €0.57 (STB), 24 hours €1.52 (STB)

Romania is not in the eurozone — at the till you pay in lei (RON), not euro. The prices on this page are still all in euro, converted at the same reference rate as every other price on the site, so they compare directly with other cities.
Prices line by line
All prices are per person.

You pay in lei, not euro
Romania uses the Romanian leu (RON), not the euro. Almost everything paid on the spot — food, transport, tickets — is charged in lei; the prices on this page are converted to euro so they compare with other cities on the site, not because a shop will take euro.

From the airport
Bus 100 to the centre is €0.57 per person, the same fare as any other ride on public transport. A train to Gara de Nord station is the other option for the same route, with no change onto a bus.

Sightseeing tickets
Stavropoleos Monastery and Centrul Vechi are free. The Palace of the Parliament, the Romanian Athenaeum and the Village Museum charge separately — their prices sit on the day-by-day plan, where each one falls on its own day, not here.

What this sum leaves out
- Breakfast, a drink and papanași for dessert. Not part of the prices compared here.
- A trip to Sinaia, Mogoșoaia or Snagov. Each has its own transport and tickets, outside the daily budget in the city.
- The metro (Metrorex). The prices above are for public transport (STB); the metro is a separate network with its own ticket.
