Getting around Kragujevac

Kragujevac has no airport of its own — the way in is by coach from Belgrade, and the town itself is covered entirely on foot.

Where to go: five more questions →

Kragujevac has no airport, so the way in runs through Belgrade: the coach Belgrade–Kragujevac runs all day, the journey takes 1 h 40 – 2 h, fare €8.52. A closer airport exists, but it doesn't help — inside the city, everything is covered on foot or on a JKP 'Šumadija' bus.

From Belgrade to Kragujevac

Morava airport — closer, but not practical

The nearest airport as the crow flies is Morava, by Kraljevo, 34 kilometres from town, but it only takes a handful of seasonal Air Serbia routes, and the cheapest public transport from there into town is none — only a taxi or a booked transfer. For most visits, the route through Belgrade stays the more practical one.

City transport and on foot through the centre

Buses in town are run by JKP 'Šumadija': €0.64 for one ride, €1.83 for 24 hours, €5.02 (3 days). The centre round Milošev venac and the theatre is entirely on foot — a bus becomes useful only for the ride to Šumarice and back.

To Šumarice

The memorial park is part of the city, but far enough from the centre that it's usually reached by city bus, not on foot — especially in a plan that covers the centre the same day.

To Gruža and Borač

There's no city bus line to Lake Gruža and Borač — it's your own vehicle or an organised trip, about twenty kilometres west of town.
