Brașov–Ghimbav airport (GHV) opened in 2023 and flies to dozens of destinations with Wizz Air; the A1 bus line (RATBV) runs from there to the centre and the train station in about 30–40 min. The Old Town itself is covered on foot, while RATBV city buses and trolleybuses handle the rest, including the ride up to Poiana Brașov.

RATBV city transport

RATBV covers the city with bus and trolleybus lines, all on the same ticket: €0.95 for one ride, €3.80 for 24 hours. Line 20 runs up to Poiana Brașov, lines 130/131 to Rasnov — the same ticket as any city line.

On foot through the Old Town

Council Square, the Black Church and Rope Street sit within a fifteen-minute walking circle — no bus is needed between them, just a street to cross. Transport becomes useful once you head further out, towards Șchei, the station or the airport.

Trains to Bucharest and Sibiu

CFR trains from Brașov's station run to Bucharest (IC and InterRegio, direct, about 2 h 30 min) and to Sibiu (direct, about 3 h — the exact time depends on the train type and number of stops). Both lines run through the centre of Transylvania, and neither passes through the other.
