What Budva costs
Sleeping, food, transport and tickets in Budva each carry their own range, already in euro.
- Sleeping
- Hostel €5.50–25
- Tourist tax
- €0.80 per night
- Food
- A main course without drinks is €13–18

Montenegro isn't in the European Union, but it pays in euro, so nothing here needs converting. Sleeping, food, transport and tickets sit below, item by item, each with its own range.
Sleeping and the tax
A hostel dorm bed is €5.50–25; a three-star room, split two ways, runs €20–51 each. On top of that comes a tourist tax of €0.80 per night, easy to miss when comparing listings online.

Food
A main course at an ordinary place, no drinks, runs €13–18. Prices per dish — fish soup, Njeguši ham and cheese, squid, octopus, mussels — sit on the food page, because they don't enter the same sum every day.

Transport and the airport
A ride on public transport in town is €1.50 (short hop); there is no day ticket, none, single-ride tickets only. From Tivat airport it's €3.56–5.53 per person, on the same road the private carriers use, with no single fixed fare.

Tickets
The Budva City Museum is €5 (groups €4, ages 12–18 €3, under 12 free), and the citadel €2 (includes history brochure). Of the six main sights on the hub, only those two charge admission; Mogren Fortress, the three beaches and the ride to the island (aside from the boat fare itself) round out the rest.

What this total skips
- A car of your own or a tour for Lovćen and Ostrog. Those trips have their own transport and timing, outside the daily sum in town.
- Breakfast, and any drink poured with the meal. Not part of the prices above.
- A sunbed on the beach. Charged separately, per item, and the price depends on the beach.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Does Budva have one daily budget figure?
Not the way some other cities on the site do — the main lines are a hostel €5.50–25, a meal €13–18 and a ride €1.50 (short hop), each on its own.
Is the tourist tax shown in the room price?
Usually not: it runs €0.80 per night and is paid in cash at reception.
Does Budva use euro?
Yes — Montenegro uses the euro despite not being an EU member, so there's no converting from another currency.
