Where to stay in Bratislava
Three different reasons for three different areas: the Old Town's cobbles, closeness to the station, or quiet by the Danube.
- Hostel
- €13–16, a dorm bed
- Hotel 3*
- €35–43 per person, a double room
- The Old Town
- The castle

Anyone here for the castle and cathedral picks the Old Town, where everything is within walking distance. Anyone continuing on by train picks a spot near Hlavná stanica. Along the Danube, towards Eurovea, the city's crowds fade and the riverside promenade starts at the door.
To walk to everything
An address inside or right by Michael's Gate keeps the cathedral, the castle and the UFO deck a short walk away, with no ride needed within the day. The lanes are narrow and evenings run late, so this is also the loudest choice for a weekend stay.

For the train onward
Anyone continuing by train, to Vienna or further across the country, saves time with an address near the main railway station. From there it's still a short walk or a single ride, €1.60–1.80 (60 min), to the Old Town.

For quiet and the promenade
Addresses closer to Eurovea and the Danube riverside give a quieter night, with a morning walk along the river straight into the Old Town. For Devín and Slavín, on the opposite side of the city, expect a longer trip from here.
What a night costs
There's a hostel, a dorm bed at €13–16. A three-star hotel runs €35–43 per person for a double room, a range that covers the whole city with no sharp gap by area.
