Where to go: five more questions →

Bratislava has its own airport, M. R. Štefánik (BTS), so there's no changing through another city. From the airport it's bus 61 to the main station (IDS BK), about 25–30 min to the main station, for €1.60–1.80 (60 min, zone 100+101). From there the Old Town is close, and inside it everything is on foot.

1. The airport

Bus 61 into the centre

Bus 61 (IDS BK) runs straight from the airport to Hlavná stanica, the main railway station in the centre, about 25–30 min. The ticket is bought electronically or on paper, €1.60–1.80 (60 min, zone 100+101) — the same ticket as any ride in the city.

2. The electronic ticket is cheaper

A single 60-minute ride runs €1.60–1.80 (60 min) — the electronic ticket is cheaper than the paper one, so it adds up on a day with several rides. A 24-hour ticket runs €4.85–5.40, and pays off from three rides the same day.

3. From Hlavná stanica to the Old Town

The station is about ten minutes' walk from Michael's Gate, or one ride for anyone with luggage. From there on, to the castle, the cathedral and the UFO deck, everything is on foot.

4. Day two

A bus out to Devín

For Devín, on the opposite side of the city from the Old Town, take a city bus, on the same ticket as everything else. The Blue Church and Slavín, on the other hand, are close enough to the centre to walk.
