The best time to visit Malbork
The castle is open all year, but the tower, the Nogat cruise and the night tour each keep their own window, and the three don't line up.
- Best
- late Apr–Sep
- The tower
- off-season (Oct–Apr) and Mondays
- The Nogat cruise
- off-season (Nov–Mar)

In Malbork the date also decides how much is open at all. In season, late Apr–Sep, the tower and the Nogat boat cruise run, and for part of that stretch, Fridays and Saturdays from May to August, so does the night tour through the castle itself. Outside that window the day visit remains, without the tower.
The season that decides the castle
In season the castle is open 25 Apr–30 Sep: Tue–Sun 9–20; Monday walking route only, free. The same stretch, late April to late September, also keeps the tower open, 25 Apr–30 Sep: Tue–Sun 11:00–18:15. The tower is closed off-season (Oct–Apr) and Mondays.

The Nogat cruise and the night tour, two different windows
The boat cruise on the Nogat runs longer than the tower, Apr–Oct, afternoons and evenings in summer, and is closed off-season (Nov–Mar). The night tour through the castle itself has a narrower window, May–Aug, Friday and Saturday evenings (selected dates), and is closed off-season (Sep–Apr). Plan around it by the exact date.

What runs all year
The old town, St John the Baptist's Church and the Nogat riverside walk are open all year, with no closing day. The same goes for the view of the lit-up castle from the quay, free every night of the year.
