Mistakes everyone makes in Szentendre
Mistakes in Szentendre rarely cost much, but they spoil the day: Monday, the wrong train ticket, museums paid for one by one and Skanzen in the same day.
- Monday
- Skanzen shut
- HÉV day-trip ticket
- €17.11, both directions, up to 10 people
- Day ticket
- €8.83

Most mistakes in Szentendre happen before the first museum: the day of the week, the HÉV ticket and the assumption that everything fits into one day. Only then comes paying for tickets.
Arriving on a Monday
Monday is the weakest day. Skanzen is shut, and so are the Serbian Church Museum, Czóbel, Kmetty and ArtMill. Only the Margit Kovács museum is open. Someone arriving then has the square, the riverfront and that one museum, and has ridden about 40 min for them.

A day-trip ticket for one traveller
The HÉV H5 day-trip ticket, €17.11, is valid all day, both directions, for up to ten people. It pays off only in a group. Someone travelling alone or as a pair buys single tickets, about €2.50–3 one way.
Museums paid for one by one
The day ticket €8.83 covers all the Ferenczy Museum Center exhibitions the same day: Margit Kovács, Czóbel, ArtMill and Kmetty. Someone buying a ticket per museum pays the same thing several times. The Serbian Church Museum is a separate ticket, €3.86, because it is not part of that ticket.

Skanzen in the same day as the centre
Skanzen is a separate trip and takes a whole day, and it is open 31 Mar–25 Oct: Tuesday–Sunday 9–17; 27 Oct–1 Nov: 9–16. Put it after the centre and you arrive at the end of opening hours. The ticket is €11.04, and on festival days a higher price applies, €13.80.
