What Thessaloniki costs
Thessaloniki adds up item by item — a hostel or hotel, street food, city transport, the airport fare and the tourist tax, all in euro.
- Sleeping
- Hostel €12–20
- Transport
- A ride €0.60, 24 hours €2.50
- From the airport
- Bus 01X €2

Greece has always been in the eurozone, so nothing in Thessaloniki needs converting from another currency — every price below is already in euro, per person, and built around street food rather than a restaurant table.
Prices line by line
All prices are per person, except where marked otherwise.

Sightseeing tickets
The White Tower, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Byzantine Culture charge separately. The total for all three, per person, sits on the day-by-day plan, where the order of entry is too — not here, since it does not enter every day's sum.

From the airport
The 01X bus (01N at night) to the centre is a separate line — not covered by the regular €0.60 city ticket, but charged on its own, €2 per person.

A day trip out of town
Vergina, Halkidiki, Olympus and Edessa each have their own transport, outside the daily sum in the city. The only confirmed ticket among them is for the Royal Tombs Museum in Vergina, €20 per person.

What this sum leaves out
- A restaurant meal and a drink with it. This budget is built around street food; choosing a table and a waiter instead of a counter is its own line item.
- Trips out to Vergina, Halkidiki, Olympus or Edessa. Their own transport and tickets, outside the daily budget in the city — the one exception is the Vergina ticket, above.
- Sightseeing tickets. A separate line, above, since they do not enter every day's total.
