1. Monastir airport

The station is inside the terminal

Charter flights from Europe land in Monastir, some twenty kilometres from Sousse. The Sahel Metro station sits at the airport, so reaching the train just means crossing the platform straight out of the terminal.

2. The Sahel Metro into Sousse

the Sahel Metro (SNCFT), a train from the station at the airport itself to Sousse (Bab Jedid); louage or taxi as alternatives. A ticket is €0.45–0.60, and the whole trip to Bab Jedid station in Sousse takes up to 45 min. A taxi or louage is the alternative for anyone who'd rather not carry a case to the platform.

3. In town itself: on foot or by taxi

The medina and the Boujaffar quay are a few minutes' walk from each other, so no transport is needed there. For Port El Kantaoui, ten kilometres north, it's a metered taxi; a tourist train exists but runs slower than a taxi.

The same line

The Sahel Metro that brings you from the airport carries on to Monastir, and a different line from the same station in the centre runs to El Jem; Kairouan, with no railway, is louage or driver only.
