Where to go: five more questions →

Capri has no sandy beach. The shores are pebbly or rocky, and the differences between them are in access and price. Marina Piccola is 15–20 min on foot from the Piazzetta, Bagni di Tiberio is reached by water taxi or on foot, and by the Faraglioni are two private lidos with the highest prices.

Marina Piccola — pebbles and a view of the Faraglioni

Marina Piccola is on the south coast, 15–20 min on foot from the Piazzetta, by Via Mulo. A bus or a taxi will do as well. The beach is pebbly, with a view of the Faraglioni, and has both free and paid spots. Via Krupp would lead to it too, but it has been closed most of the time since 1976 because of falling rocks.

The Faraglioni — two private lidos

By the Faraglioni are Da Luigi ai Faraglioni, at €115, and La Fontelina, opposite the stacks, at €200 minimum spend per person (29 May–13 September). At La Fontelina you book in advance, and the staff assign the spot. These are the highest prices among the beaches with published prices.

Bagni di Tiberio — a cove reached by water taxi

Bagni di Tiberio, also known as Palazzo a Mare, is a pebbly cove with shallow water, so it suits families. You reach it by water taxi from Marina Grande or 20 min on foot from the church of San Costanzo. A spot with a sunbed is from €40 (sunbed only).

Punta Carena and Gradola — rock and deep water

In the west, below Anacapri, the shore is rocky, with deep water. A bus runs from Anacapri to Gradola and to Punta Carena, and on foot it is 45 min on foot. The Lido del Faro at Punta Carena: €100 (sunbed + restaurant credit).

Marina Grande — a harbour and a beach

Marina Grande is pebbly, with a gently sloping bottom, accessible to wheelchair users too, and has both free and paid spots. It is also where the boat arrives.
