Where to go: five more questions →

Croatia has been in the eurozone since 1 January 2023, so every price in Split is already in euro, with nothing to convert. The single biggest line in the day is usually a meal at a konoba, not any ticket — the palace cellars are €10, and the cathedral with its bell tower is priced separately.

Why there's no single total

€14–18 is a dorm bed, but the tourist tax on a hostel stay and the price of a set lunch in Split have not been confirmed well enough to enter this guide as a fixed figure — Split's konobe mostly run à la carte, with no fixed set lunch. That's why this page gives a price per line, not one total for a frugal day.

From the airport

The bus to the centre is €3, the same fare as any other ride on public transport; a taxi or a fixed transfer is €35–50 (metered), €40–45 (fixed transfer), per ride, not per person.

The islands have their own sum

Trogir, Brač, Hvar, Krka and Vis are not in this sum — each trip has its own transport ticket, from €11 (2× one-way by bus) for Trogir to €36–44 (2× one-way) for Hvar, return, per person.

What this sum leaves out

  • A room or an apartment. The table above prices a night at €14–18, the dorm-bed rate; a private room in Veli Varoš or on Marjan runs well past that, so check the date-specific price before booking.
  • A trip to the islands or Krka. Trogir, Brač, Hvar, Krka and Vis each have their own transport and tickets, outside the daily budget in the city itself.
  • Drinks with the meal. The meal prices above do not include them.
