Getting around Seville
From the airport by the EA bus to Plaza de Armas, on foot through the old town, and to Santa Justa station by bus or an hour's walk.

Seville is a walking city with two exceptions, the road in from the airport and the road out to Santa Justa station. Everything between them is a question of heat, and the answer to heat is to move early and late.
From the airport to the centre
The bus that does the job is the EA, short for Especial Aeropuerto, run by Tussam. A ticket costs €6 one way and the ride to Plaza de Armas takes 30–45 min, depending on traffic. You can buy the ticket in the arrivals hall, at the machines or on the bus itself.
Plaza de Armas is the last stop and also the bus station. The EA calls at Santa Justa and at Prado de San Sebastián on the way, so the stop nearest your bed is probably one of the three. A taxi from the airport runs on a fixed fare to any address in the city, higher at night, at weekends and on holidays, and highest in Holy Week and the Feria. The EA is still the better default, because it stops at the station and at the Prado. Keep the taxi for late hours or heavy luggage.

On foot, by bus, by tram
The cathedral, the Alcázar and the Plaza de España are about twenty minutes apart on foot, so the old town is walked. Summer changes the timing and leaves the method alone. Go out in the morning and again after six, and spend midday under a roof, which is exactly what the page on when to go advises. Shade is the currency here.
The city bus costs €1.40 a ride and is most useful when it is hot or when you are heading for Nervión. The tram, line T1, runs from Plaza Nueva to Luis de Morales in eight stops, down Avenida de la Constitución past the cathedral, and has no overhead wires in the historic core because its batteries charge at the stops. San Bernardo stop sits beside the metro and train station of the same name. At Prado de San Sebastián the bus station and the tram stop are neighbours, and the metro is at Jardines del Prado, two or three minutes on foot from the tram.
Santa Justa station and Nervión
Santa Justa is 2.5 to 3 km from the old town, which means 35 to 40 minutes on foot or 15 to 20 minutes on Tussam 27, 32 or C1. The EA calls here too. Trains to Córdoba and Cádiz leave from the station, and the day-trips page covers both. Sleeping in Nervión, by the station, makes sense if the train is first on your list.
Taxis
The fixed fare is for the airport run. It covers journeys to and from the airport and not rides inside the city. It rises at night, at weekends and on holidays, and rises again in Holy Week and the Feria. The amount depends on the day and the hour, so ask the driver before setting off.

Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
How do I get from the airport to central Seville?
Take the EA bus at €6 one way. The ride takes 30–45 min to Plaza de Armas, the last stop, and the bus also calls at Santa Justa and Prado de San Sebastián. A taxi runs on a fixed fare to any address in the city, higher at night, at weekends and on holidays.
How do I get from Santa Justa station to the old town?
On foot it takes 35 to 40 minutes. Tussam 27, 32 or C1 take 15 to 20 minutes, and the EA airport bus also stops at the station.
Do I need transport in Seville?
Not for the old town, since the cathedral, the Alcázar and the Plaza de España are about twenty minutes apart on foot. The city bus at €1.40 helps when it is hot or when you are staying in Nervión.
