Getting around Wrocław

Wrocław has its own airport, so the way into the centre is short: one bus, one station, then on foot or by tram.

Where to go: five more questions →

Wrocław has its own airport, so getting into the city doesn't run through another hub the way it does for some Polish cities. Bus 106 runs straight from the airport to the main station, about 44 min, for €1.05. From the station you walk to the Rynek, and that's where transport mostly stops being necessary.

1. Wrocław airport (WRO): bus 106

The airport sits south-west of the centre. The only regular connection is bus 106, which runs straight to the main station, about 44 min. The fare is €1.05 — the same as any other ride on city transport, so there's no separate airport fare to buy.

2. The main station: a neo-Gothic building from 1857

The bus ends at the square in front of the main station. Its red neo-Gothic façade was raised in 1857 by the architect Wilhelm Grapow, and last renovated in 2010–2012. From here it's a ten-minute walk to the Rynek, and trains to Świdnica, Sobótka and Wałbrzych leave from the same platforms.

3. In town

On foot, with a tram to Centennial Hall

The Rynek, Świdnicka Street and Cathedral Island are a few minutes' walk from each other, so the whole Old Town is covered without a single ride. The exception is Centennial Hall, about fifteen minutes out by tram. A single ride is €1.05, a full-day ticket €3.42.

  • One ticket covers bus and tram alike. No need to change ticket type between the two.
  • For the return to the airport, it's the same bus 106. It leaves from the same spot in front of the main station.
