Poznań beyond the goats: a croissant on stage, a fortress turned park and a quarter of murals
A museum that stages a show instead of displaying exhibits, a fortress that stopped being one long ago, and a quarter across the channel that guides skip on the way to the cathedral.
- Croissant Museum
- €9.36, 55–60 min
- Citadel Park
- Free
- Śródka
- Free

These three places sit off the main square, and guides either mention them in passing or skip them. The Croissant Museum acts out the rogal in a show, Citadel Park is a fortress the city turned into green space, and Śródka is a quarter of murals everyone walks through on the way to the cathedral, rarely with a reason to stop.
1. The Croissant Museum: a show, not a showcase
Instead of pastry under glass, a costumed guide here plays the role of a master baker and walks the group through the story of the rogal świętomarciński, with mixing and a tasting at the end. The show lasts 55–60 min, entry is €9.36, and a slot is recommended, online in advance.

A fortress turned park
A former Prussian fortress is now the city's largest green space, with military cemeteries and museums scattered through the park rather than gathered in one spot. Entry to the park itself is free; the Museum of Armament and the other museums inside charge their own admission, free on Tuesdays. This is a place to slow down after two days of stone and square, with no single station you have to hit.

A quarter of murals across the channel
Śródka is the oldest settled quarter in the city, older than the centre itself, and today it's known for the large murals painted on its building walls. Guides walk through it on the way from Porta Posnania to Lake Malta, but rarely stop — the streets show best when you go slowly.
