Getting around Poznań
Poznań has its own airport, one bus into the centre, and a city that's walkable after that. Only Malta needs a tram.
- Getting in
- Poznań-Ławica airport (POZ)
- From the airport
- bus 159 to Rondo Kaponiera / the centre
- In the centre
- On foot

Poznań has its own airport, Poznań-Ławica airport (POZ), so you don't arrive through another city. From the airport it's bus 159 to Rondo Kaponiera / the centre, in about 20–25 min. Once you're standing on the Stary Rynek, the rest of the centre and the island are on foot — a tram is only for Lake Malta.
1. Poznań-Ławica airport (POZ)
The airport is inside the city, unlike destinations with no airport of their own that need a connection through the capital. The bus stop is right outside the terminal.
2. Bus 159 to the centre
It's bus 159 to Rondo Kaponiera / the centre, the ticket is €1.60 and works like any city ticket. The ride takes about 20–25 min, depending on traffic.

3. In the centre: everything on foot
The Stary Rynek, the Imperial Castle and the bridge to Ostrów Tumski are all within twenty minutes of each other on foot. Transport in this part of town saves nothing, it only adds a wait at the stop.

4. To Lake Malta: tram from Śródka
The lake lies east of Śródka and is too far to walk after a full day on the island. The tram leaves from Śródka, and the same city-transport ticket works.
