Where to stay in Lublin
The Old Town keeps the castle and the gate a few steps away; the wider centre around Krakowskie Przedmieście holds more beds and sits closer to the way to the station.

Lublin has no river splitting it into two clear halves the way some other cities on this site do — the divide here is narrower: inside the Old Town walls, or in the wider centre stretching along Krakowskie Przedmieście towards the newer part of town. A dorm bed runs €9.13–11.41, a 3-star hotel room per person €38.80–42.20.
The Old Town — by the castle and the gate
Inside the walls, around the square and the lanes leading to the Kraków Gate, there is the least accommodation in the city — the buildings are mostly low and old, with few rooms each. Anyone sleeping here can do the whole first day of the itinerary on foot, without a single ride.

The centre around Krakowskie Przedmieście — the most choice
The main pedestrian street outside the walls runs from the Old Town towards the newer part of the city, past Plac Litewski and on. Along it and the side streets sits most of the city's accommodation, with the shortest route to Lublin Główny station and to the transport out to Majdanek. A hostel bed runs €9.13–11.41; with almost 60,000 students in the city, that price stays low even in season.

What to check before you book a bed
- A hostel bed is €9.13–11.41 per person. The range depends on the hostel and the date; the Carnaval Sztukmistrzów in late July pushes prices up for a few days.
- A 3-star hotel room is €38.80–42.20 per person. The jump from the hostel price is wider here than in some other cities on this site — the supply of 3-star hotels is narrower.
- The Old Town means ten fewer minutes on foot to the castle. For Majdanek on day two it makes no difference — the bus or tram is caught from either part of town.
