Beaches in Gdańsk
Brzeźno is a tram and a pier, Jelitkowo is wide sand and a park, Stogi is pine and dunes, with no tram until mid-2027 — and Sopot and Gdynia are already a different stop.

Gdańsk has three beaches of its own and two more a train ride away. Brzeźno is reached by tram and has a pier and a restaurant promenade, Jelitkowo is one of the widest beaches in the Tricity and has a park behind it, and no tram runs to Stogi, a shore backed by pines and dunes, until mid-2027. Sopot and Gdynia are already a different town, reached by SKM train. The sea is just as cold everywhere.
Brzeźno — a tram to the pier
Tram 3 runs to the Brzeźno Dom Zdrojowy stop, tram 5 to Brzeźno Plaża, both direct from the centre, Wrzeszcz and Oliwa — the sand is a few minutes' walk from either. The pier is 136 metres long, and behind the beach runs a promenade lined with restaurants, left over from when Brzeźno was a spa town in its own right. This is the most urban of the three beaches.

Jelitkowo — wide sand up to the Sopot border
One of the widest beaches in the Tricity sits right against the Sopot border — Jelitkowo, about 1.5 kilometres of sand, reached by tram 2, 4 or 12, roughly half an hour from Gdańsk Główny. Walk along the sea from there and you reach Sopot without changing trains. Behind the sand is a park zone with concerts, an outdoor gym and a beach-volleyball court; lifeguards are on duty from June to August.
Stogi — no tram, among the pines
No tram currently runs to Stogi — the bridge that connects it is under repair until mid-2027, replaced by the free T8 line, every 5 to 10 minutes, straight to the Stogi Plaża stop. The shore runs about 1.5 kilometres and up to 100 metres wide, backed by dunes and a pine forest that give shade and shelter from the wind neither Brzeźno nor Jelitkowo has. This is the beach for anyone escaping the city crowd.

Sopot and Gdynia — a different stop, a different town
The tram line ends at Jelitkowo; for Sopot and Gdynia it's the SKM — fifteen minutes to Sopot for €2.07, thirty to Gdynia for €2.53. Sopot is a spa town with a pier and the pedestrian Monte Cassino street running down to the beach; Gdynia is an interwar town built from nothing, with an entirely different, modernist waterfront. Both are closer to Jelitkowo than to the Main Town.

The Baltic is a cold sea
The water isn't warm on any of the five beaches. In June it's about 15 degrees, in July and August it climbs to 19 or 20, and by September it's back down to around 17. That's colder than the Adriatic all season.
