Getting around Milan
Milan has two airports in use, and which one you land at changes your whole first hour in the city — from a direct metro line to a train that runs nearly an hour.

- M4 to San Babila
- Malpensa (MXP)
- Malpensa Express to Cadorna

- which one for whom

Milan is entered through two airports, and that changes the first step. Linate is 12 min from the centre on metro line M4, direct; Malpensa is farther out, and the Malpensa Express runs into town in about 37–40 min. In the city itself, everything else is on foot and by metro, €2.20 a ride.
Two airports, in short
Linate runs direct on metro M4 into the centre, 12 min, M4 to San Babila, €2.20. Malpensa is farther out and has no metro — the Malpensa Express to Cadorna takes about 37–40 min, for €15. Which one suits which flight is on a page of its own.

Metro and on foot
Most of the centre is walked, and the metro covers the rest: M1 runs from the Duomo to Conciliazione, M2 from Lanza to Porta Genova. One ride is €2.20, a full-day ticket €7.60.

'Milan Bergamo' on a ticket isn't Milan at all — it's the airport by Bergamo, with a coach whose timetable changes by season. More on that airport, and on Bergamo as a half-day trip, on two other pages.
