What Milan costs
A hostel bed is €12–50, coffee at the counter €1–1.30 — then a fair week comes and room prices rise more than threefold, across the whole city.

A day in Milan depends more on the fair calendar than on how much you spend. A hostel bed is €12–50, coffee at the counter €1–1.30, and a room by the Duomo normally €70–140 — in fashion week or during the Salone del Mobile that price holds nowhere in the city. Every other line is in the table below.
Prices line by line
Everything per person, in euros. The day is the same basket across the site: a bed, two meals, city transport and admissions.
The table covers an ordinary week. Two weeks break it: 22–28 September 2026 brings fashion week, and 13–18 April 2027 the Salone del Mobile. Prices then rise in every district, and the table becomes only a rough guide. Outside those weeks, most of the bill goes on accommodation and tickets; food and transport stay predictable.

Coffee at the counter is €1–1.30. The same cup at a table in the centre can run several times more, since what you're paying for there is the chair. Street food, a panzerotto from a bakery, is €2.80 (panzerotto, Luini), and a main course at an ordinary spot €12 (cotoletta alla milanese, Brutto Anatroccolo). City transport is €2.20 a ride or €7.60 for a full day, and it also covers the line to Linate.

The city tax isn't in the price you see when booking
The city raised its tax for 2026, ahead of the Winter Olympics: 3★ €7.40/night (1★ €4 – 4/5★ €10) a night for a three-star hotel, paid on the spot and not included in the room price you're shown.
