The best time to visit Kutná Hora
The season doesn't decide whether to go, only how long each stop stays open that day — from the ossuary to the mine beneath the town.
- Best
- April–October, longer hours
- The ossuary and the Cathedral of the Assumption
- Apr–Sep 9–18
- St Barbara's Cathedral
- Apr–Oct 9–18

Kutná Hora is a year-round visit, but the April–October, longer hours season means longer hours at almost every stop in the plan. The Sedlec ossuary, St Barbara's Cathedral and the Italian Court all run through winter too, just for shorter hours, while Hrádek keeps its closing day whatever the month, and the Stone House doesn't open at all in winter.
Temperature is the mean over the whole day (not the daily high), and a rainy day has at least 1 mm of rain; averages for 2021–2024.
Kutná Hora sits inland, with no sea to soften the temperatures, so the April–October, longer hours season brings both warmer days for the walk from Sedlec to the core and longer hours at every stop in the plan.

What runs shorter outside the season
The Sedlec ossuary and the neighbouring Cathedral of the Assumption run Apr–Sep 9–18; Oct & Mar 9–17; Nov–Feb 9–16. St Barbara's Cathedral in the core follows a similar pattern, Apr–Oct 9–18; Jan–Feb 10–16; rest 10–17, and the Italian Court adds a lunch break to its off-season hours, Apr–Sep 9–18; Oct–Mar 10–17; break 11:45–12:15. None of these three stops shuts entirely in winter — they just run shorter.

Hrádek and the Stone House: two different closing patterns
Hrádek keeps a closing day all year, Monday, with hours that vary by month. The Stone House goes a step further: besides Monday as its closing day, the winter stretch, Monday; closed Jan–Mar (winter), is off the schedule entirely, so that stop drops out of the plan for that part of the year.
