Where to stay in Rovinj
The old town keeps the bell tower, Grisia and the waterfront a few steps away; the area south towards Zlatni Rt keeps parking and the beach, at the cost of a short walk back in.

Rovinj doesn't have a network of districts like a bigger city — the choice is between two sides. The old town on the peninsula puts everything within reach with no rides at all, but the streets are narrow and parking-free. The area south of it, towards Zlatni Rt, offers parking and nearby beaches, with a short walk into the centre.
The old town — on the peninsula
Everything worth seeing in Rovinj sits within a fifteen-minute walk: Grisia, St Euphemia's bell tower, the waterfront and the House of Batana. The streets are narrow, cobbled and mostly free of cars — staying here means no rides anywhere while in town. The drawback is the flip side of the appeal: parking is almost non-existent, so a car is left at the edge of the old town or further out.

South of the centre — towards Zlatni Rt
The part of town between the old core and the Zlatni Rt forest park: larger places to stay, more parking and closer to the rocky beaches. The old town is a short walk along the shore, no transport needed. It makes sense for a longer stay or for anyone arriving by car.

What to check before booking
- Distance to the old town on foot, not to the town boundary. Rovinj is small, but the shoreline stretches out — ten minutes' walk can turn into twenty-five.
- The tourist tax isn't in the price shown. For a three-star hotel it's €1.60 season (Apr–Sep), €1.06 off-season (per person/night), the same in the old town and to the south towards Zlatni Rt, paid on the spot.
- Parking in the old town. Anyone arriving by car should plan for parking outside the narrow lanes and a walk in with the bags.
For a three-star hotel it's €1.60 season (Apr–Sep), €1.06 off-season (per person/night), and it doesn't show in the price a booking site quotes upfront — it's asked for at the desk.
