Pula in 2 days
The first day is all on foot around the Roman centre, the second drives or cycles to the cape at Istria's southern tip, where there is not one hotel.

This plan splits the city in two. Day one is the Roman centre, all within a fifteen-minute walk; day two is Cape Kamenjak, reached only by car or bike via Premantura. With just one day, stop after the first and you lose nothing essential.
Roman Pula, from the Arena to the tunnels
The Arena, the only Roman amphitheatre left with all four towers. Entry €10 (€5 students); seasonal: Apr 8–20, May 8–21, Jun–Aug 8–22, Sep 8–21, Oct 8–19, Nov–Mar 9–17; no (online purchase recommended).
The Temple of Augustus, two minutes away on the forum. Entry €2; Apr–Jun 8–19:30, Jul–Aug 8–21, Sep 8–19:30, Oct 8–19; closed Nov–Mar (winter).
The Arch of the Sergii stands at the end of the main street. Entry free, an open city monument with no fence.
Lunch: €8.50–11 for a set menu, or €8.50 (jota with Carniolan sausage) for jota at a konoba.
Zerostrasse, the tunnels under the centre. Entry €7; May–Sep 9–21, otherwise 9–17. Cold even in summer, a good pick for the hottest part of the day.
Kamenjak does not fit this day. The centre is dense and walked; the cape at the other end of the peninsula wants a car or bike and its own day.

Kamenjak, a cape with not one hotel
Car or bike via Premantura to Kamenjak, 20–30 min drive.
Vehicles pay an entry fee in season; free on foot or by bike all year. The exact price is on the day-trip page.
Lunch brought along, or in Premantura. The cape itself has no restaurant or hotel, just coves and gravel track.
Head back the same way; the last cove before the car park usually has the fewest people by late afternoon.
For islands instead of a beach, swap day two for Brijuni, a boat ride from Fažana. Timing and the seasonal price are on the day-trip page.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Where does a third day in Pula go?
Rovinj, 40–45 min by coach. It has its own page and fills a full day without a return to central Pula that evening.
What if I only have one day in Pula?
Stop after day one. The Roman centre carries the visit on its own, and Kamenjak or Brijuni can wait for a return trip.
Does the Arena need advance booking?
No, but no (online purchase recommended), since queues at the entrance build up in summer.
