Getting around Kotor
Tivat airport has no bus to Kotor, the old town isn't driven at all, and Lovćen is reached by road or by an eleven-minute cable car.
- From the airport
- taxi (no organised bus), 10–15 min, €15
- Cable car to Lovćen
- €25 (€14 one-way), 11 min
- Kamenari–Lepetane ferry
- €5 (ferry, per car) per vehicle

Kotor moves in four ways. From Tivat airport it's a taxi, because there's no organised line. The old town itself is a pedestrian area without exception. For anything further, Lovćen, the other side of the bay, or Dobrota and Prčanj, the choice is between driving and three places where someone else does the driving, the cable car, the ferry and the municipal bus.
From Tivat airport to the old town
Tivat airport (TIV) is the closest to Kotor, but there's no organised bus into town, taxi (no organised bus). A taxi into town costs €15 and takes 10–15 min. Podgorica airport is the further second option, with its own road into town.

The old town — on foot, no exceptions
The streets inside the walls are too narrow for cars, so the old town is covered entirely on foot — from the gate up to the ramparts to the last square in a few minutes. Parking sits outside the walls; arriving by car still means walking the last stretch.

The cable car to Lovćen — eleven minutes up the mountain
The cable car runs from Kotor to Lovćen National Park in 11 min, a return ticket costs €25 (€14 one-way). It operates no fixed day — stops in high wind, so it's worth having a backup plan for that day; booking online helps, though it isn't required. The alternative is driving up the serpentine, which takes longer but passes through Njeguši.

The Kamenari–Lepetane ferry — the other side of the bay
The ferry crosses the bay and closes the loop around the Boka; the €5 (ferry, per car) fare is per vehicle, regardless of passenger count. It shortens the drive to Herceg Novi and on towards the border, instead of driving all the way round the bay.

The municipal bus, priced by zone
A municipal bus connects the old town with Dobrota and Prčanj. A single ride is €1–1.50, by zone, by zone. A day ticket is none, single or monthly. Over these short distances it's still often quicker on foot or by taxi.
