Mistakes everyone makes in Kotor
Tivat airport has no bus, the Lovćen cable car stops in high wind, and a Lake Skadar boat is priced per vessel; six things that most often wreck a day here.
- The airport
- taxi (no organised bus)
- The cable car
- Operates no fixed day
- The Njeguši plate
- Usually for two, not per person

These six mistakes follow the same pattern. Something gets assumed to exist when it doesn't, a bus from the airport, a fixed price for a lake boat, a backup day for the Lovćen cable car. All six are simple to sidestep once you've read this page.
Waiting for an airport bus that doesn't exist
Tivat airport has no organised bus line to Kotor — taxi (no organised bus). Anyone stepping out of the terminal looking for a stop loses the time they'd have spent on a taxi, 10–15 min for €15.

The Lovćen cable car with no backup plan
The cable car operates no fixed day — stops in high wind. There's no fixed day off, but it stops when the wind picks up, and that isn't announced far in advance. Anyone counting on it as the sole route up Lovćen, with no car or organised trip in reserve, can end up with neither.

The Njeguši plate ordered per person
A tasting plate of Njeguši prosciutto and cheese is €15–20 and is meant to feed two. Ordering one per person at the table is an overreach that costs more and leaves half of it uneaten.

Lake Skadar priced as if for one
A Lake Skadar boat trip is priced per vessel, not per passenger. The cost per person depends on how many others share the boat, so it isn't the same for two people as for eight. Arriving in Virpazar alone with no booking can mean waiting for the boat to fill up, or paying for the whole vessel.

The walls after ten in July and August
The steps up to St John's Fortress have no shade, and after ten the climb is in full sun, with a wave of cruise passengers coming down at the same time. Missing the morning slot at the ticket office is better fixed by waiting until after five than by climbing at midday.

Stopping at six sights
The six main sights fit into a single day, so it's easy to leave thinking that's all there is. Off that list are St Luke's Church, with its two altars side by side, and St Nicholas Church, both a few steps from Trg od oružja.
