Where to stay in Genoa
Three reasons for three parts of the city. The old town's lanes, a spot near the station for arriving and leaving, or a fishing village by the water.
- The old town
- The harbour
- Boccadasse
- A pebble beach and a harbour of boats
- The price of a night
- Not listed here

Anyone here for the harbour, the cathedral and the palaces sleeps in the old town, where everything is within walking distance. Anyone arriving late or heading straight on picks the area around Piazza Principe, the station at the old town's edge. Boccadasse and the eastern coast suit those who value a beach at the door over being close to the sights.
To walk to everything
An address inside the old town's 113 hectares keeps Porto Antico, the cathedral and the Royal Palace a short walk away, so the day needs no ride at all. The lanes are narrow, and you sleep in the middle of the city rather than beside it.

For the train and the airport
Anyone arriving late or continuing by train, towards Milan or down the coast, saves time with an address near the station. From there the old town opens out on foot, and the airport Volabus (about 30 min) stops at Piazza Principe.

For quiet and the sea
Addresses closer to the eastern coast give a quieter night and a morning walk along the beach before the city gets going. The price is the distance to the sights. To reach the Lanterna, at the opposite end of the harbour, you cross the whole city.

What a night costs
The price of a night is not listed here. It changes with the dates and the area, so the real figure appears only once you enter your dates on a booking site.
