Getting around Genoa
From the airport to the centre on a single bus, the Volabus. Inside the old town everything is on foot.

Genoa has its own airport, Cristoforo Colombo (GOA), so there is no change through another city. From the airport you take the Volabus (AMT), airport – Brignole – Piazza Principe – city centre line, about 30 min. The ticket is €6 (€5 online). Once you reach the station at the old town's edge, you go on foot.
The Volabus into the centre
The ticket is worth buying online in advance, because it is cheaper than on the spot. On landing you go straight to the Volabus, which calls at Brignole and Piazza Principe before it reaches the centre. If you sleep in the old town, you get off at Piazza Principe.

AMT tickets
For everything else there is AMT. A single ride runs €2 (110 min, AMT). The 24-hour ticket runs €10 (METDaily).
3. From Piazza Principe to the old town
The station is on the old town's edge, so from there to the cathedral, the Royal Palace and Porto Antico everything is on foot. The only ride needed in the centre is the Castelletto lift up to the lookout.

Along the coast to Boccadasse and the Lanterna
Boccadasse is at the eastern end of the coast and the Lanterna at the western end, which makes them the two farthest targets in the city. Get to both on foot or by AMT, with a ticket you already hold.
