Ovčar-Kablar Gorge in 2 days
Day one covers what doesn't depend on the season — the viewpoint and the monastery — day two picks between the circular trail and kayaking on the lake, depending on the month and your stamina.

This plan splits the gorge into two days instead of one: day one covers what runs regardless of season — the Kablar glass viewpoint and Nikolje Monastery — day two chooses between the circular trail and kayaking on the lake, depending on the month and your stamina. Arrive outside April–October and kayaking is off the table, leaving only the trail.
The viewpoint and the monastery, then a night in Ovčar Banja
Arrival from Čačak and straight to the Kablar glass viewpoint, 879 metres above the gorge. Entry €4.26; open every day, 10:00–19:00 on weekdays and 9:00–19:00 at weekends. For fewer crowds come on a weekday morning — weekends run a longer queue.
Nikolje Monastery, the oldest in the gorge and the only one without a dome — first recorded in an Ottoman register of 1476. Entry is free, no booking exists; the dress code is observed.
Lunch, then on to Ovčar Banja, the only place in the gorge with rooms and taverns — this is where you sleep if staying two days. The springs run 35 to 38°C, and the spa works year-round.
A free afternoon at the spa or a short walk by the river. Tomorrow is the more physical half, trail or kayak, so the day stays unhurried.
The circular trail can be walked year-round when it's dry. Kayaking runs only April to October — outside that window there's no choice left, only the trail.

Circular trail or kayak — the season and your pace decide
Breakfast in Ovčar Banja, then back towards the trailhead or the kayak jetty — both start near the gorge itself, not in the spa.
Option A — the Kablar circular trail: 11.4 km with over 600 m of ascent, four to six hours. Carry your own water, there are no springs on the way; it passes several monasteries and comes out at the same viewpoint as day one, now without the morning queue.
Option B — kayaking on the lake, April to October: about three hours of flat water along the meanders, no rafting involved.
Back towards Čačak and on to Belgrade, or one more night in Ovčar Banja.
Both take three to six hours, and the gorge is hard to leave before dark — pick one, not both.
Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Can the viewpoint and the monastery both fit in one day?
Easily — each takes about an hour, two to three hours total with the drive between them. The rest of the day is left for Ovčar Banja.
What if you travel outside April–October?
Kayaking doesn't run, so day two is left with only the Kablar circular trail — that one is walkable year-round when it's dry.
Is the gorge reachable without a car?
Barely. A bus runs from Belgrade to Čačak, but transport inside the gorge itself is sparse — a car is practically needed.
