The best time to visit Perast
The date changes the queue at the jetty and the price of a room, not the opening hours — Perast can be visited any month of the year.

Perast is open year-round. There is no month when the boat to the island stops running or the museum shuts for more than one day a week. What changes is the queue at the jetty and the price of a room; May, Jun · Sep keep the same sun as summer with half the people waiting for the boat.
No month shuts Perast down; what changes is how long you wait for the boat, and what a palace room costs.
Best time to go: May, Jun · Sep
Same boat, same church on the island, half the people at the jetty compared with July and August, while the waterfront terraces, which fill up by midday in summer, offer a seat without a wait in these months.

Summer
The car parks at both entrances fill by midday, and the boat queue can run long. Arriving before ten solves both. Fish on the terraces costs more in summer because every table faces two islands; pasta or the dish of the day holds the same seat for less.
Every 22 July at dusk, boats in a line drop stones around the island. The ritual is centuries old and is watched from the shore. Anyone travelling that date builds the rest of the plan around the evening ritual.
Winter
The boat to the island still runs, just less often. The Museum of Perast moves to shorter hours, 15 Oct–15 Apr: Tue–Sun 10–16; 15 Apr–15 Oct: Tue–Sun 8–20, the streets are empty, and the palace terraces sit without guests — a different picture of the same town.
