Levanto is north of Monterosso and reached by train, train (Cinque Terre Express), 5 min (from Monterosso) one way. The ticket is €5–10 (Cinque Terre tariff, by season). Allow half a day.


By boat
To Portovenere you go by boat, boat (Cinque Terre – Portovenere), about 1 h 25 (from Monterosso). A return ticket is €15–18 (return), day pass €25–35, and you allow half a day. The boats run in the season.


Genoa
Genoa is a second way into the region, and the train from there to the villages runs without a change.
