Where to stay in Český Krumlov
The river splits the core into two, and both are a walk from everything. The choice is atmosphere, not distance.
- Staré Město
- Inside the river's loop
- Latrán
- At the foot of the castle
- Hostel
- €20.49 per person

In Český Krumlov you don't choose transport to your room, because there isn't any — none, all on foot. You choose the side of the river. Staré Město sits inside the Vltava's main loop, around Svornosti Square; Latrán is the narrower strip between the river and the castle's first courtyard. The difference on foot is a few minutes over the bridge, not half the town.
The square, quiet evenings, further from the castle
Outside the door are narrow lanes branching off Svornosti Square in every direction, with façades built a storey higher five centuries ago. The castle is seen from here across the river, reached over the bridge, so this side suits anyone closer to the station than to the climb up the hill.

Under the castle, a shorter climb in the morning
Outside the door is a narrower street climbing towards the castle's first courtyard, with less space but fewer steps to a morning ticket for the tower. The restaurants are the same as in Staré Město, just the walk to them is reversed — shorter to the castle, longer to the square.

What a night costs
A hostel bed runs €20.49, a three-star hotel €27–40 per person for a double room, plus a tourist tax of €2.05 per person per night. The town is small and both banks sit inside the same pedestrian zone, so the price gap rarely tracks the choice of quarter.
