Český Krumlov in 2 days
Day one is the loop from Svornosti Square to the castle and back. Day two is slower, on the water, with the Vltava instead of streets.

- The castle and the raft

Day one holds the castle hill: Svornosti Square, the climb to the first courtyard, the Castle Tower and the castle itself. Day two comes down to the river — the Egon Schiele Art Centrum and the monastery in the morning, a raft through the centre itself in the afternoon. With only one day, do the first and see what put this core on the UNESCO list.
The square, the castle hill and the tower
Arrival by train, direct Jižní expres train (Czech Railways). From the station into the centre it's on foot, none, all on foot.
Svornosti Square, the heart of Staré Město, with narrow lanes branching off it in every direction.
Over the bridge into Latrán, the part of the core right under the castle, then uphill to the first courtyard.
Castle Tower and Castle Museum at the entrance, a combined ticket €11.48, the visit takes 55 min.
The castle, Circuit I through the Renaissance and Baroque apartments, €12.30, open Tue–Sun 9–16 (Sep–Oct 2026).
Lunch in Latrán or on the square; a main course at a regular place runs €8.60–9.20.
The Castle Garden behind the theatre wing, free, no rush until evening.
Back over the bridge into Staré Město, a free evening.
Entry to the Castle Baroque Theatre comes only with a guide, at slots slots at 10, 11, 13, 14, 15. Anyone fitting it into this day books the slot before arriving and trades it for the garden — out of season (out of season (Nov–Apr)) the theatre is closed.

The river, and what the castle leaves for later
Egon Schiele Art Centrum, the museum built around the painter's years in town, €11.48, open Tue–Sun 10–18.
The Monastery of the Poor Clares and Minorites, museum €7.79, open daily 10:30–18.
Šatlavská Lane, one of the narrowest in the core, on the way to the river.
Lunch before heading onto the water.
Rafting the Vltava through the centre itself, 1 h for €16–27, gear included.
A free afternoon by the river, or the train back if the day ends here.
What to drop when you're running late
- Late on the first morning? Skip the Castle Tower — the castle itself carries the day, the tower is the extra.
- No rafting (off season)? Swap it for a longer riverside walk and a second loop through Latrán.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Can Český Krumlov be done in a single day?
The castle and the core fit into a day. A second day adds the river — the Egon Schiele Centrum, the monastery and a raft down the Vltava.
What needs booking ahead?
The castle's main circuit and the raft, both recommended. The Baroque Theatre is strictly by slot and needs a guide.
