Two days on Korčula split cleanly. The first stays inside the old town, ringed by walls laid out like a fishbone, the second heads out onto the island. A catamaran from Split ferry port docks right in town, 2 h 20 for €8.49–11.68. The second day picks one side of the island, a sand beach in Lumbarda or a cave above Vela Luka.
The old town
Split–Korčula town catamaran docks right in the old town harbour, 2 h 20 from Split ferry port for €8.49–11.68.
The streets inside the walls follow a fishbone plan. Wind moves freely down the main one, while the narrow side lanes keep it out. First stop is St Mark's Cathedral, on the main square.
Walking the walls is free (free); Revelin tower, with the highest view over the harbour, needs a separate entry through the combined City Museum ticket.
For lunch in the old town, a main course at an ordinary place runs €13–23.
The afternoon stays unplanned. The town is small, and the same lanes loop back from the other direction.
If it's on the schedule that night, the Moreška runs 1 h and costs €20 a ticket. Booking ahead isn't possible (no).
The Moreška runs 9 pm, 29 Apr – 14 Oct 2026, but not every night. Check that day's listing with the official ticket seller in advance.

Lumbarda or Vela Luka
Day two picks one side of the island: Lumbarda to the east or Vela Luka to the west, both by the same Arriva bus from the old town.
A bus runs to Lumbarda: Arriva bus, 15 min for €5.40 (2× €2.70) return. Vela Pržina beach is sandy, entry is free (free), and the grk vineyards sit in the same plain.
A bus runs to Vela Luka: Arriva bus, about 1 h for €12.60–13.40 (2× one-way) return. The cave's hours are Mon–Sat 9–20, and it stays shut on Sunday — worth checking against the last bus back. No advance booking for the audio guide (no); it's a free download at the entrance.
The last ride back to the old town is the day's final bus. There's no day ticket (none), so each ride is paid separately.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Is two days really enough for Korčula?
For the old town and one side of the island, yes, either Lumbarda or Vela Luka. Covering both sides needs a third day.
Can you reach Korčula from Dubrovnik?
Not directly any more. The Dubrovnik–Pomena–Korčula line stopped running after 9 August 2026, and the catamaran now runs from Split ferry port.
Does the Moreška run every night?
No. The season is 9 pm, 29 Apr – 14 Oct 2026, but only the official ticket seller says which day it's actually on.
