What Dubrovnik costs

Dubrovnik has no single daily total like some cities on this site — the walls ticket alone carries more of the bill than the bed or the meal.

Where to go: five more questions →

Croatia is in the eurozone, so there is no currency conversion. Unlike cities on this site with a single 'day without a hostel / day with a hotel' total, Dubrovnik is priced here line by line: the bed and the meal are similar to the rest of Dalmatia, but the walls ticket, €40, alone moves the day's total more than any meal does.

Bed and food, per person

ItemAmount
Hostel, a dorm bed€15–39
3-star hotel, double room, per person€35–80
A restaurant main course in the Old Town, no drinks€20–30
Street food (burek)€2.60–6 (burek)

All prices are per person; Croatia needs no currency conversion.

Tickets — the biggest variable line

A walls ticket is €40 in season and €15 from November to March — that gap alone is bigger than the one between a hostel and a hotel. Lokrum with the boat both ways runs €30, the Srđ cable car €30 return or €17 one way, and the Rector's Palace and Sponza €15. The Stradun and Konavle need no ticket.

Transport

ItemAmount
From the airport, shuttle€10
Public transport, one ride€1.73 (app), €2.50 (from driver)
Public transport, 24 h€5.31

One ride is cheaper through the app than paid in cash to the driver.

Three costs this page does not cover

  • Tickets to the smaller museums. The Franciscan pharmacy, the Maritime Museum, the Rupe Ethnographic Museum and the synagogue charge separately, off the main list.
  • A trip out of town. Cavtat, Konavle, Ston, the Elaphiti and Mljet each have their own transport cost, separate from this one.
  • The tourist tax. Paid on the spot, per person per night, and not included in the accommodation price shown.
