Klagenfurt holds 1–2, enough for the old town and one day by the lake, without rushing and without a car. Day one stays on foot around Neuer Platz, day two takes a bus or bike out to the Wörthersee and Minimundus, both on the same shore.
The old town around Neuer Platz
Arrival Klagenfurt airport (KLU), then city bus line 4 to the centre, about 20–30 min for €2.60.
The Lindwurm, the dragon fountain on Neuer Platz from the sixteenth century, is free to enter (free) and takes 10 min to look around.
The old town's arcaded courtyards, entered straight from the street, are free (free) and take about 30 min for a few of them in a row.
In the old town, a set lunch runs €12.50–14.40, or €11.90–15.90 for a main course with no drinks.
The afternoon stays free for the same quarter or a first look at the lake; buses to the Wörthersee run from the centre all afternoon.
The Lindwurm and the arcaded courtyards are seen without a ticket and without notice. The only two requirements are walking and time.

The Wörthersee and Minimundus
Getting to the lake is a bus or a bike, a short ride from the centre.
The Wörthersee is reached via the Strandbad or a free stretch of shore, free · Strandbad €6.90–7.20, half a day set aside for the water and a walk along the shore.
Lunch nearby runs €11.90–15.90 for a main course, the same price as in town.
Minimundus, a park of world landmarks at 1:25 scale, sits right beside the lake, €22, 1.5–3 h, and no booking needed for entry. It runs seasonally, and the exact schedule is on the "when to go" page.
Minimundus only runs part of the year. Outside it, what's left is the lakeside walk and the old town.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
Do two days cover Klagenfurt properly?
For the city and one day by the lake, yes, 1–2 covers both without rushing.
Does this plan need a car?
No, both days run by bus and on foot, and city bus line 4 to the centre also covers the arrival from the airport.
What if only one day is available?
The old town alone fills a full day; the lake and Minimundus then drop from the plan.
