Getting around Catania
From the airport to the centre on one line, the Alibus, then on foot; the city bus for further afield.
- Getting in
- Catania–Fontanarossa Airport (CTA)
- From the airport
- Alibus (AMT)
- One ride
- €1.40

Catania has its own airport, Catania–Fontanarossa (CTA), so there's no changing through another city. From the airport it's Alibus (AMT), direct line airport–centre–Stazione Centrale, 20–28 min, for €4. Inside the centre you go almost entirely on foot.
The Alibus
The Alibus (AMT) is a direct line airport–centre–Stazione Centrale, 20–28 min, for €4. There is no changing, and it stops right in the centre.

One ride or a day ticket
One ride on city transport (AMT) runs €1.40. A 24-hour ticket runs €3.50 and pays off from the third ride in a day. Inside the old core you rarely need transport.
3. Out of town: coaches and the train
To Etna runs the AST bus from Piazza Giovanni XXIII to Rifugio Sapienza. To Taormina runs the Interbus, direct; to Syracuse a Trenitalia regional train; and to Aci Trezza the AMT city bus, line 534.
