Where to go: five more questions →

From the airport bus 15 reaches town for €1.30, and from there Corfu splits into three kinds of transport: the town is walked, the south goes by city bus in two zones, and the beaches by green bus or by car. Buy the ticket before boarding, because on the bus it costs more.

From the airport to San Rocco Square

Bus 15 runs from the airport via San Rocco Square to the port and belongs to zone A: the fare is €1.30. Buy the ticket before boarding; on the bus it is sold at a higher price. From San Rocco to the Spianada and the Old Town you walk, so your luggage rolls over cobbles.

City bus, zone A and zone B

Zone A covers the town and the Kanoni–Mon Repos line, and the ticket is €1.30. Zone B goes further out, to the Achilleion, and the ticket is €1.80. What to visit on which zone is set out in the two-day plan.

The green bus to the beaches

The Green Bus, KTEL's intercity service, leaves from the terminal on Leoforos Eptanisou. Line A9 goes to Paleokastritsa, B17 to Glyfada, A2 to Sidari. The fare is €1.50–5, depending on the route. Luggage goes in the hold under the bus.

The green bus does not reach Angelokastro. It stops in the village of Krini, from where the way down to the castle is steep, so from Paleokastritsa you take a taxi or your own car.

When a car is better

To Paleokastritsa and Glyfada the bus works, but parking fills quickly in summer: in Paleokastritsa it is hard in high season, while Glyfada has several large paid car parks by the beach. If you want two coves in one day, or Angelokastro without a taxi, hire a car.

From the mainland

The Igoumenitsa–Corfu ferry sails 1 h 10–1 h 30, and the ticket is from €5.60. It is run by Kerkyra Lines and Kerkyra Seaways, with up to twenty-five sailings a day in season, and no cabins, because the crossing is short. If you reach Corfu overland, the ferry stands in for the airport.
