What Niš costs
In Niš getting around town is free, so a day's spend comes down to the bed, the meals and whether you hire a car for a trip.
- A day per person
- frugal €31–33, comfortable €70–120
- Food
- A meal in a kafana €6.80
- Tickets
- Mediana €4.30

What Niš costs per day depends on two things: where you sleep and where you eat, because city and suburban buses are free. Below are prices per person, three profiles, and what each trip adds.
What things cost, per person
Accommodation is per person, with two sharing a room or apartment.

Three profiles, per person per day in town
Getting around town is free in all three profiles; breakfast, coffee and drinks are not included.
Tickets are paid once per stay, not every day, so a second day in Niš costs only the bed and the food. A frugal day is therefore little more than the bed and two kafana meals, and a comfortable one half a hotel room and two restaurant meals — which is also where you choose to save.

What the trips add
- The Sićevo gorge and Niška Banja. They add only what you eat there — the bus is in the table above.
- Sokobanja. The cheapest coach ticket is €8.70 each way, so count it twice for the day.
- Felix Romuliana. The ticket is €4.30. A small hire car is €15–22 a day, and petrol for the roughly 220 km to Gamzigrad and back, at 6 litres per 100 km, about €23. With two sharing the car, the day comes to €23–27 a head.

Where Niš costs you for nothing
- A taxi to Mediana or Niška Banja. The five kilometres to Mediana are about €4.60 each way by taxi, the nine to the spa about €7; bus 1 covers the same ground.
- Renting a car for every day here. The city, both gorges and Sokobanja are all reachable by bus; hire one only for the day at Gamzigrad or Đavolja Varoš.
- The combined ticket without the sum. It covers all four National Museum sites — Mediana, the Skull Tower, Crveni Krst and the Archaeological Hall. If you are visiting two or three, add up the single tickets in the table and compare.
