- Juliet's House

Day one follows the same loop the Verona page describes: from the Arena, via Piazza delle Erbe and Juliet's House, across the river to the Roman Theatre, then back to Castelvecchio and San Zeno. Day two is slower and stays on the right bank, for the Giardino Giusti and the viewpoint at Castel San Pietro. With one day, do only the first loop and leave the right bank for another visit.
From the Arena to Castelvecchio
Piazza Bra and the Arena. Outside performance days entry is €12, opens Tuesday–Sunday 9–19, except on performance days.
Via Mazzini to Piazza delle Erbe, a former Roman forum, and up Torre dei Lamberti (€6) for a view over the river's loop.
Juliet's House, off Via Cappello. Booking is mandatory, the full ticket is €12.
Lunch around Erbe; a set lunch is €12–20.
Across Ponte Pietra to the Roman Theatre, on the right bank. The bridge still carries Roman arches, rebuilt from the same stone pulled back out of the river.
Back to the left bank, along the river to Castelvecchio. Entry €6, opens Tuesday–Sunday 10–18 (last entry 17.15).
Basilica of San Zeno, the last stop before dinner. Ticket €2.50.

The right bank, slower
Castel San Pietro, by funicular (€2 (return €3.20)) or on foot up the steps. Go in the morning, while it's cooler and the queue shorter.
Giardino Giusti, a Renaissance garden a little further along the river. Entry €11.
Lunch on the right bank, in Veronetta, away from the centre's crowds.
A free afternoon; anyone who wants more heads back to the Roman Theatre (€4.50) for the Archaeological Museum built into it.
In summer, a performance at the Arena, if the festival programme has one on that night. Buy the ticket ahead.
What to drop when you're running late
- Late start on day one? Skip the climb up Torre dei Lamberti — the view from Castel San Pietro on day two covers the same ground, just from the other side.
- Didn't book Juliet's House in time? The courtyard is still visible through the gate; going inside isn't an essential stop on a first pass through the city.

Before you go
Short answers to what people ask most before setting out.
What gets dropped with only one day?
Day two: the Giardino Giusti and the Castel San Pietro viewpoint. The loop from the Arena to Castelvecchio fits into one day and covers everything essential.
Do I need to book Juliet's House ahead?
Yes, since 1 April 2026 an online booking is mandatory, even just to step into the courtyard without the museum.
Is a second day worth it without a car?
Yes — Castel San Pietro and the Giardino Giusti are both on the right bank, ten to fifteen minutes on foot from Ponte Pietra.
